About

The Akili Initiative is an online student think tank for global health. There are over 150 global health departments in the United States alone, most of which have sprung up in the past decade and are functioning in relative institutional and geographic silos. What began as a casual conversation between high school friends at different universities has become an online platform to link our generation of global health change agents together.

The Akili Initiative provides an online platform for students in global health around the world to come together and collaborate on innovative global health discussions and projects. Akili solicits article and multimedia content from students and then provides the social media tools to discuss and disseminate that information back to students’ own networks and organizations. Akili is working to shift the knowledge paradigm from a policy brief-based DC think tank system to a platform more comfortable and effective to our generation.

As a Clinton Global Initiative University commitment and Ashoka-based Youth Venture, we are quickly growing and taking on more summer bloggers, editors, and other partners. Please contact us at akili@akiliinitiative.com if you’d like to get involved!
